In June 2024, Maxtop accomplished a remarkable project of a GOB P1.86 semicircular curved LED video wall. This LED screen, with a relatively small size of only 7 square meters (dimensions: 2880 * 2440mm), was destined for a shopping mall in Hungary. Despite its modest scale, the requirement for a semicircular curvature posed a significant challenge to the LED modules and lamps. Gold HLF, during our communication, specifically emphasized this concern. This was our second collaboration with them, and they were eager for us to assist in winning the bid, which was crucial for their subsequent plans. Although the order was small, we treated it with the utmost seriousness. Eventually, we devised a satisfactory solution that enabled them to secure the project successfully.
The Current Situation of Curved LED Screens in Shopping Malls
In shopping malls, curved LED video walls such as the P1.86 LED video wall have become increasingly popular. However, a host of issues have surfaced. When strolling through malls, it’s not unusual to spot a considerable number of dead lights, especially on curved screens. This is mainly due to the stress endured by the LEDs. Our encounter with Gold HLF, a prominent player in high-end mall operations from Hungary, at the 2024 Shenzhen Exhibition was a significant milestone. Amid intense competition from well-known brands, our UCD series managed to attract their attention. The UCD series, an outstanding innovation, incorporates a soft LED module with a die-cast aluminum cabinet and the GOB process. This combination guarantees enhanced flatness and a smooth surface. The flexible soft module can be bent, folded, or twisted to meet diverse requirements, offering designers boundless creative potential, particularly in constructing uniquely shaped screens. When HLF presented their demands, which involved customizing inner arc cabinets, attaining higher flatness and seamless joints, and developing an indoor P1.86 pitch standard product for malls, Maxtop was well-prepared.
